The Emmerich Smola Promotion Prize is one of the highest endowed singing prizes available. Numerous winners have since achieved international careers. To qualify for the competition, emerging artists must already have been awarded prestigious prizes and scholarships. They will be accompanied by the “Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern” under the direction of Guillermo Garcia Calvo, who serves as music director at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid. The charismatic conductor has established an excellent reputation with orchestras and opera houses around the world.

Laffont Competition, New England Region | January 25th, 2026 @ 1PM
The Met’s Laffont Competition—previously known as the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions—is designed to discover promising young opera singers and assist in the development of their careers and is sponsored by hundreds of donors and volunteers from across North and South America. Some of today’s greatest singers got their starts in the competition, including Jamie Barton, Stephanie Blythe, Lawrence Brownlee, Anthony Roth Costanzo, Emily D’Angelo, Michael Fabiano, Renée Fleming, Susan Graham, Ryan Speedo Green, Lisette Oropesa, Eric Owens, and Nadine Sierra.
Recital: The Cliburn | January 29th, 2026 @7:30PM
Rising vocal stars Shelén Hughes Camacho, soprano and Joseph Parrish, baritone with Amir Farid, piano make their Cliburn Concerts debut on January 29, performing a program that spans spirituals, opera, art song, and musical theater at the Kimbell Art Museum Renzo Piano Pavilion. Shelén Hughes Camacho and Joseph Parrish replace Nicole Car, soprano and Etienne Dupuis, baritone, who had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances.
Recital: Baruch Performing Arts | February 10th, 2026 @ 7PM
The program, titled “Songs from the Harlem Renaissance,” features Parrish alongside pianist Amir Farid in a concert curated specifically for Baruch PAC. The program includes works by Margaret Bonds, Harry T. Burleigh, Undine Smith Moore, Hall Johnson, Moses Hogan, and others, with texts by Langston Hughes, Paul Laurence Dunbar, James Weldon Johnson, Claude McKay, Georgia Douglas Johnson, Mari Evans, and Countee Cullen, among others.

Roberto Scarcella Perino's music has been commissioned, performed, and recorded by excellent ensembles and soloists throughout Europe, Asia, and The United States. His works include 2 piano concertos, piano, choral and chamber music.
Brahms: Requiem | March 7th, 2026 @ 7PM
Johannes Brahms called his requiem a “Human Requiem.” Indeed, the words of his own choosing combine to console, comfort, and lift the souls of the living. Beethoven’s dramatic Leonore Overture No.3 and Carlos Simon’s Elegy: A Cry from the Grave (written to honor the wrongful deaths of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, and Michael Brown) make this powerful presentation by the Cathedral Choirs and Orchestra a unique and much-needed moment in time.

Recital: The George and Nora London Foundation | April 30th, 2026 @ 7:30PM
The George and Nora London foundation will feature a recital showcasing soprano Shelén Hughes Camacho and baritone Joseph Parrish. Both artists were 2025 George London Award winners. Hughes Camacho has performed with the Frankfurt Opera, Blossom Music Festival, New York Festival of Song, Carnegie Hall, Teatro Municipal de Santiago, and Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. Parrish has appeared at Carnegie Hall, the Salzburg Festival, the Kennedy Center, Cincinnati Opera, MasterVoices, and Cathedral of St. John the Divine, among others.
Orchestra of St. Luke's and Joseph Parrish: Finding an American Voice | May 7th - May 18th, 2026
Orchestra of St. Luke’s, joined by baritone Joseph Parrish, celebrates the friendship between Harry T. Burleigh, the pioneering Black American composer, and Antonín DvoÅ™ák, the renowned Czech composer. Their collaboration, rooted in spirituals and folk music, helped shape a distinctly American sound that continues to inspire us today.

Opera Saratoga: Donizetti, L'elisir d'amore - Belcore | June 21-27, 2026
The Elixir of Love, Gaetano Donizetti and Felice Romani’s charming romantic comedy, tells the story of puppy dog Nemorino who is in love with the brilliant and wealthy landowner, Adina. When the traveling (quack) Doctor Dulcamara comes to town selling cures of all kinds, Nemorino purchases a love potion, which is in reality, a bottle of Bordeaux. Will the potion work its magic on Adina as Donizetti's music works its magic on audiences centuries after Elixir's debut? Find out at this touching bel-canto opera, which features some of Donizetti’s most beautiful and memorable music including "Una furtiva lagrima" and "Prendi per me se libero.”
